Found my betta dead in his bowl this morning. Had to flush his little body down the toilet. Sad.

I think it was stress. And the environs. It was probably time to upgrade him from his glass bowl world to a tank after I started putting on the ac. He got fungus. And I treated him but it was probably too late.

Bye Clifford. I will miss you.

My internet's been acting up so I haven't had a chance to give the latest updates. Until the cable people come to set me up with wireless internet I'll be leeching off my unsuspecting neighborhoods. Anyhoo,

I passed my drug test!!! The day of the test I drank a cleansing fluid that my friend Fernando got me from his friend who works at the Vitamin Shoppe called Omni which tasted like vomit but I downed it and drank two liters of water and went to my test in the afternoon. That was on a Thursday and I was a nervous wreck until I found out the following Tuesday morning that I passed!...thank you jesus. pheww...i was soo happy! And then I got the call on Wednesday afternoon that I got the job at Chaps! I was v. excited and texted everyone and went to the Apple store that evening and got myself an ibook heehee...

This past week was my first week at Chaps Denim and it's been great. It's a really fun environment to work in, everyone I work with is a total character and Jay, the knitwear designer djs great music for us to listen to the entire day. I learned a couple new programs that I'll be using a lot which is cool and I really think I'll be learning alot there.

I don't know if it's cuz I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens today but my allergies just started acting up..ugh..

This is my goddaughter Sofia! She's a little over a month old and I just got this picture from Cheryl, her proud momma. She needs to take a picture of her in the little sailor dress I got her!

Sucks it's Monday tomorrow. I hate the thought of having to wake up early tomorrow and doing crap I have no interest in doing. Oh well. Hopefully freelancing at Jones Apparel will only be one more week! Although I must say I totally feel like I've been taking a crash course in technical design and I have learned a good amount that will be helpful for doing my own stuff.

The job search is coming to a close. The only thing standing in my way now is the freaking drug test I have to take this coming week! I met with the Chaps Denim team this past Wednesday to show them the project I did for them on a collection for Spring/Summer '07 and all three of them loved it! Which made me feel great of course. I was pretty nervous about it, especially because I wrote up a little schpiel and had to read it for each one of them and that made it a bigger production so I was really glad to receive such a positive reception. They gave me the feeling that I pretty much got the job but they said either I would hear from them or from human resources in the next two days. The next day, I got a call from Dan from human resources and he told me the process now would involve doing a background check on me to make sure that I actually went to UPenn and Parsons, that I haven't committed crimes, and that my references check out. Also, I'd have to take a drug test!!!! It's not scheduled; I just have to hit up one of the facilities on a convenient day and get it done but he wanted me to do it soon. Finally the habitual chronic user must face reality: pot is a drug (in fact it's a class A drug) and doing it can stand in the way of getting a job you really want! EGAD. What has the world come to.

So I've been detoxing detoxing detoxing: drinking loads of water, eating lots of salads, exercising, not drinking or smoking. Strange not to be high on a Friday night. Or high on a Saturday night. Or drunk. Being sober on the weekend is a piece of shit.

Went biking in Central Park today. It was super. Jeremy and I rented bikes from a bike shop on 53rd and 9th--btw, Robyn is on crack because she told me we'd find a bunch of bike shops all along 54th street and there was one, when was one ever "a bunch"--and we rode from the 59th street entrance to the park all the way along the east side up to Harlem and then made our way back down south on the west side. So many people were out, walking, running, rollerblading, riding bikes, taking carriage rides, playing ultimate, volleyball, rowing canoes, just out enjoying the sun. I've never seen Central Park in it's entirety so this was a new and wonderful experience. Some truly killer hills along the loop but there were also some really sweet downhill curves that made up for it; we did the 6.1 mile loop in about an hour. What does this mean for the 42 mile 5 boro bike tour I'm not sure. I hope we can do that in under 4 hours but that might be complete wishful thinking. In any case had a great time and hope to bike in the park again next week!

Am loving the Yeah Yeah Yeah song from the new Flaming lips album.

Off to some Katamari Damacy and then bedtime!

Violence and occupation does not bring liberation.

It's all bullshit. Get off it. This war is for profit. <Cindy Sheehan>

Just got home from the anti-war concert at Hammerstein ballroom! Somehow Rob scored tickets--the kid has connections--so we got to lounge in the VIP area, drink free vodka and red bulls, and watch (here comes the list): Steven Earle, Margaret Cho, Fischerspooner, Susan Sarandon, Cindy Sheehan, Moby,  Devendra Banhart (I'm now a fan), Peaches, Chuck D, Rufus Wainwright, Bright Eyes, and Michael Stipe!! Rufus Wainwright did an amazing rendition of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' with his mom on piano. I was super comfy with our balcony seating but I wish I could've been closer to the stage to get some better pics. Oh well, we did get to take pics with Margaret Cho and Chuck D!
